Resident Committees
SECURITY & SAFETY COMMITTEE
The Security & Safety Committee of the Resident Council will maintain liaison with the Administration and Resident Council on:
1. Matters relating to the physical security and safety of residents of Goodwin House Bailey's Crossroads (GHBC) particularly for fire detection, prevention, and safety procedures and for procedures for other emergencies such as earthquakes, hurricanes, floods etc.
a. Advise the Administration of actions it deems necessary and appropriate to improve and enhance security and safety measures in effect at GHBC.
b. Keep informed of security and safety problems.
c. Accept and respond to questions, suggestions and complaints from residents regarding physical security and the detection, prevention and safety procedures for fire and other emergencies.
2. The Committee will be comprised of volunteer Safety Wardens and such other residents as may be appointed for Security and Safety activities. The committee chair may establish such subcommittees as considered necessary to execute the responsibilities of the committee.
3. The Committee, supported by Staff, will conduct recruitment and training for Safety Wardens at least annually.
4. The Committee will work with Staff to conduct fire and other security and safety briefings and drills as required by Fairfax County or deemed desirable by the Committee or the Administration.
