CATERING

Private Parties/Catering
GHBC provides catering for luncheons, meetings, cocktail parties, dinners, teas, and memorial services. To reserve one of the public rooms for a private party, to place a food and beverage order, or to arrange for catering in a resident apartment, consult Ghizlane Aiad, Catering Manager.

  • Family Get-Togethers
  • Other services include floral arrangements, decorations, balloons, and party favors, as well as food and beverages

Considerations before you start:

  • Know your budget
  • Know your date, time and location
  • The type of event
  • Approximate number of guests
  • What type of linens, china or disposable products you wish to use
  • Decorations, including flowers
  • Room arrangements 
  • Rental of special items
  • Menu

Planning the menu

  • Buffet service might be a more affordable option than sit-down service.
  • Develop a menu based on time of day and length of the event.
  • Are there any known food allergies or special diets your guests will require?
  • Do not give the caterer a lower guest count than you actually expect.
  • Consider alternative meal provisions for musicians, photographers, and other vendors.
  • Bar requirements — full bar or limited service only?
  • Always provide non–alcoholic options.

Sample Catering Menus

The simple lunch:

  • Choice of:  Cornish Game Hen with Cranberry Sauce, Mashed Potatoes, Seasoned Green Beans, Basket of Assorted Rolls, Choice of Pie or Cake, Iced Tea, Coffee and Hot Tea

The cold grilled buffet:

  • Choice of: Grilled, Sliced Flank Steak and Chicken Breast, Tossed Mixed Green Salad or Caesar Salad, Roasted Marinated Vegetables, Couscous, Basket of Assorted Breads, Dessert Selections or Fruit Bowl w/ Assorted Cookie Platter, Iced Tea, Coffee and Hot Tea

Flavorful and Savory Tea & Sandwiches:

  • Choice of:  Egg Salad with Dill Tomato, Basil, Mozzarella, Cucumber with Cream Cheese Chicken Salad, Roast Beef with Boursin Cheese Ham & Swiss, Roast Turkey with Cranberry Spread Tuna Salad, A Tray of Assorted Tea Sandwiches (choose 3) served on Wheat and White Bread, Choice of Soup of the Day or Mixed Green Salad, Dessert of the Day and Iced Tea

LUNCH OR DINNER

Entree Options:

  • Choice of:  Grilled Salmon, Beef Tenderloin, Glazed Ham, Pork Loin with Gravy, Chicken Marsala, Prime Rib, Chicken Cordon Bleu, Crab Cakes, Lasagna (Vegetable or Meat), Rainbow Trout, Home-style Meatloaf w/Gravy, Veal Masala, Stuffed Banquet Chicken, Chicken Breast Florentine, Rolled Flank Steak, Chicken Breast Roulade, Filet Mignon Medallion

Vegetables

  • Choice of:  French or Whole Green Beans, Sweet Peas, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Asparagus, Fresh Vegetable Blend, Baked Beans, Sweet Corn, Summer Squash, Zucchini, Carrots, and Sugar Snap Peas

Starches

  • Choice of:  Roasted Potatoes, Steamed White or Wild Rice, Rice Pilaf , French Fries, Sweet PotatFries, Baked Sweet Potatoes, Baked White Potato, Macaroni & Cheese, & Herbed Stuffing
