Special Services LOCAL TRANSPORTATION GHBC residents have several transportation options in addition to trips arranged through the GHBC Transportation Office. The Front Desk will call a taxicab company for you. Commerical ride-sharing options for door-to-door individual transporation include Uber (www.uber.com) and Lyft (www.lyft.com). If you need assistance learning how to use Uber or Lyft, bring your smart phone to the IT Device Clinic in the Bistro (Monday & Thursday 9 -10:30 a.m.) or contact the Front Desk, or Christy Clark-Bolden in the GHBC Transportation Office, ext. 7651, cclarkbolden@goodwinliving.org. Or Click HERE. For those who can walk at least short distances, public transportation may offer a less expensive option. Metro Trip Planner: Metro, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, offers a trip planning service. Click HERE. Buses That Serve This Area: Click HERE for a description of the buses that stop within a short walk of GHBC, with a map of where the stops are, pictures to show what the buses and stop signs look like, and information on the Senior SmarTrip card, which allows anybody over 65 to get a discount on Metro or bus travel.
